Careers in Tech & Data (28 February 2024)

Our Careers in Tech & Data Fair is designed to help you raise your profile and promote your graduate roles, internships and other paid opportunities that can come under the “Tech & Data Careers” banner.

We want to encourage students from all degree disciplines to consider the range of options a Tech & Data career can offer; inspiration for our Informatics students at the top end of the technical skills spectrum, options for students from other STEM subjects with solid relevant skills, and advice for non-STEM students with a developing interest and the capacity to learn.

Key Details for Organisations:

When: Wednesday 28 February, 12:30 - 4pm

Venue: On-Campus - McEwan Hall, Bristo Square, Edinburgh,

Cost:

  • £350 + VAT for Exhibitors paying via invoice

  • £300 + VAT for Exhibitors able to pay online without an invoice

Our priority is to facilitate positive connections between recruiting organisations and University of Edinburgh students and graduates. We do not want price to be a barrier, if you are unable to afford the exhibition rate, you can get in touch with our team.  Contact employers@ed.ac.uk

Target student audience:

  • The fair will be promoted to students from all subject areas and all year groups but would expect most interest to come from Undergraduates in years 2-4/5 and post-graduate taught students.

  • Would expect about 60% interest from students in our College of Science & Engineering (includes Informatics) and 40% non-STEM from Arts, Humanities and Social Science subjects.

Why should you book?

  • To benefit from the footfall a high profile, multi-employer on campus event will generate

  • Opportunity to inspire and access a hard-to-reach audience: non-technical students interested in tech and data roles

  • Help you widen your pool of potential candidates for all kinds of opportunities from part-time work to internships to graduate roles

  • Ideal for companies seeking both candidates with a degree specifically relevant to Tech/Data and for those who are open to either students from any STEM subject or students from any discipline.

Very impressed. The vast majority were engaged, showed genuine interest and we've had a great response from several already”
