Dates and details for the Edinburgh Award (Work Experience) 2025/26.

The Edinburgh Award (Work Experience) is taking a new format in 2025/2026.

Between October and September, we are piloting a completely self-led course with no live sessions, where you can take part whenever suits you during this period. 

Registration to take part in our semester version (October 2025 – September 2026) is now open!

Please note: 

  • After you complete the registration form, you will receive an email from the Internships and Work Experience Team about the next steps. Please check your junk mail if you have not received it. 

A member of the team will check your registration form and contact you if there are any queries about what you have submitted. 

If you are undertaking work experience at the University, please make sure you log into MyCareerHub (when registering below) and Learn using your student account - not staff account - so your Award is linked to your student record. 

Below are the key dates for the Semester intake. More details and assignment dates will be made clear once you have joined the programme. 

  • You can sign up to the award any time from 6th October 2025 and 16th June 2026.
  • The minimum length of time to complete an award is 12 weeks and the maximum time is 11 months.
  • You must complete the award by 8th September 2026.
  • There needs to be a minimum of 4 weeks between each Input session where you can actively develop your skills through your work experience.

The earlier you sign up to take part, means the more time you have to complete the award. As this is a self-led programme, it is your responsibility to manage your time effectively.
