What is the Employ.ed on Campus (Summer) programme? Employ.ed on Campus (Summer) is a structured summer internship programme. We offer this programme in collaboration with a range of University of Edinburgh departments. Who is eligible? Employ.ed on Campus Summer Internships are for second, third and penultimate-year undergraduate students of any University of Edinburgh School, based in the UK. If you have done an Employ.ed on Campus internship before you are not eligible to apply again. Why apply? By participating in this internship programme, you will: gain paid work experience at the Universitytake part in activities designed to offer you structure and support:including an induction day, interim event and end of internship event to maximise your internship experience, offering advice on starting out, setting and reflecting on goals, and receiving support at the end of your internship (Semester programme)complete an Edinburgh Award, where you will enhance your employability, develop your self-awareness by reflecting on your progress, and learn how to articulate your experience to future employers.Edinburgh AwardRead about Employ.ed Summer Interns' experiences: Employ.ed blogs and news from across the University | The University of Edinburgh How can you apply and what are the application requirements? Applications for the Summer 2026 programme closed in March 2026.You will be required to upload a CV and cover letter for each internship you apply for.We recommend you apply to no more than three internships. Focusing on a maximum of three roles will allow for a more focused and targeted approach, enabling you to dedicate more time and effort to each application.Interviews are held with the host departments and the internships start in June. Internships are 8, 10 or 12 weeks in length.You will be required to add your National Insurance Number (NI number) to your Employ.ed on Campus application. All staff employed in the UK, whether UK, European or international citizens, need a NI number. If you don’t have a NI number, then you will need to apply for one.
