How can the Careers Service support you

We know that hiring students for the first time can feel a bit daunting. The Careers Service and HR work closely together to provide a student employment service to staff and we are here to help.  

Internships and Work Experience Team 

The Internships and Work Experience Team run the Employ.ed on Campus and Employ.ed for PhD Internship programmes. The team can also provide specialist advice on hiring students for internships including: 

• Scoping out a project for an intern 

• Provide example job adverts and job descriptions 

• Give feedback on job titles, adverts and descriptions 

• Promote your role to students, including targeting groups of students 

• Provide development support to interns thought the Edinburgh Award (Work Experience)

Employer Team 

The Careers Service has a dedicated team, specialised in advice and support for organisations thinking about recruiting or developing University of Edinburgh students and graduates. 

The Employer Team can support you promote your opportunities to University of Edinburgh students and graduates, including: 

• If you are hiring for an Ad Hoc position, we would be happy to help you advertise it on our jobs and events platform, MyCareerHub.  

• If you are hiring for a part-time position, internship or full-time role, once the role has been advertised through People and Money, we can help you promote it further to University of Edinburgh students via MyCareerHub or by using one of our services
