  • Organisations from any sector, offering all kinds of opportunities from part-time work and internships to graduate roles.
  • Organisations of all sizes, both large graduate recruiters and SMEs.
  • Organisations happy to engage with a wide range of students

Why book Discover Careers?

Benefit from great footfall at our highest profile event early in semester 1 and raise your profile with students.

Very friendly students with great engagement throughout the day. Students seemed very interested in the company and to know more about what we do.

Great event, inspiring and validates our choice of HQ

Frequently asked questions

Please choose the date that suits you best. You must commit to being in the event and available to students for the full length of the event on the day you book.

Students from all subject and year groups will be encouraged to attend whenever they can across the 3 days and it is important that no matter which day or what time they attend, they have a good experience.

We are deliberately seeking to have a range of employers attending each day. Each organisation can only attend one day, unless you would like to discuss sponsorship.

  • A space in the venue large enough for you to assemble a display of 2.5m maximum width.
  • Use of a small table and 2 chairs
  • Access to tap water for refilling water bottles - please bring your own, we will not be providing bottled water or plastic cups
  • Teas and coffee - please bring your own reusable take-away cup if you would like to take your hot drinks to your exhibition area
  • Light snacks - not lunch. In an effort to support local businesses and keep your exhibition costs down, we will be highlighting nearby local businesses where your delegates can purchase their lunch if they don't bring their own.

The sponsorship package is priced at £2000 + VAT for one day at Discover Careers. Benefits include:

  • Prime exhibition space with the opportunity to place a banner at the entrance.
  • Logo placement on all publicity materials leading up to and during the event, as well as our on-campus screens.
  • Opportunity to host additional activity outdoors on Bristo Square, subject to discussion and prior agreement with the Careers Service.

Please contact employers@ed.ac.uk if you would like to discuss options.

We will be in touch within 10 working days of you submitting your booking form. All bookings received by mid-August will be confirmed or contacted no later than 2 September 2026.

Students from all subject areas and all year groups will be invited to attend but we would expect most interest to come from Undergraduates in years 2 - 4/5 and postgraduate taught students.

We encourage students to use this as a chance to be curious and discover what’s out there – that means some students may be at earlier stages of exploring career options and others may have clearer plans.

We are proud to have a very diverse student population – our international students make up around 49% of our student population and come from over 160 countries – naturally they are keen to hear from the industry about their chances of working in the UK and have questions about visas.

Following on from Discover Careers in October, our highest volume campaigns will focus on Careers in Law and Careers in Engineering, and in Semester 2 Careers in Sustainability, Careers in Social Good and Creative & Cultural Careers.

In the meantime, you can use our Expression of Interest form to add yourself to the relevant mailing list to be kept informed about events/topics that are not yet open for bookings.
