Careers in Tech & Data Fair (29 January 2025) The Careers in Tech & Data Fair offers the chance to meet with over 40 organisations recruiting for a variety of tech & data opportunities including insight experiences, internships and graduate roles. Whilst the roles on offer will be of interest to STEM students, many of the employers attending are keen to meet non-STEM students too so there really will be options for students from any discipline. Working in Tech & Data covers a wide range of career options so come and meet exhibitors: From the tech sector who have both tech and non-tech opportunities From other sectors with tech and data vacancies Who are looking for quite specific skills e.g. Cyber Security Analysts or Machine Learning Engineers Who welcome applications from a wider range of students and graduates e.g. Data Analysts, Digital Marketing Officers or Web Designers Around the time of the fair search MyCareerHub and socials for #EdTechDataCareers to find employers with vacancies and events on this theme. Speak to representatives from over 40 organisations and hear what it is like to work with them, get tips on your applications, and ask questions not covered by their websites e.g. why they recruit into tech and data roles from a range of disciplines. Challenge your thinking on what a career in tech and data looks like. Data awareness and skills are increasingly important in many career paths – find out about careers related to data in a wide sense – it’s not only about becoming a data scientist The fair is aimed at students from all years and all disciplines It doesn't matter what stage you are at in planning your career - there are opportunities for all Get information and advice from the Careers Service Schedule of events Opening Hours The event is open for you to drop-in at the following times. No booking is required. Wednesday 29 January 2025 1pm - 4.30pm Talk In-person talks will be taking place in the talks room of McEwan Hall, schedule will launch ahead of the event. You do not need to book to attend the talks, space is offered on a first come, first served basis. Who am I going to meet? You will be able to access the MyCareerHub Event listing to see the list of participating organisations before you attend (MyCareerHub login required) Our Careers in Tech & Data Event Guide will be ready before you attend. It will list of all participating employers as well as useful resources like our talks schedule and event floorplan that can be used on the day. You can filter employers by sector, type of role and visa support to find what you're looking for. Don't worry if some of the names are unfamiliar to you - you can discover more about them at the event. We'll also have lots of Careers Service staff within the event who can help you to work out who you might like to talk to. If you would prefer to do some more research on the organisations attending before you come along, you can, but it's not expected. Looking them up on our event guide would be a great place to start. How do I prepare? If you do just one thing before the 29th January, open up our event guide, explore the list of exhibitors and start planning your day. Our staff will be on hand throughout the event to help. Do I need to book? No booking required - please just come along during the event opening times.
