Meet the team

Meet the Careers Service team and find out more about what we're responsible for.

We are dedicated to supporting students with all aspects of career planning and decision-making. We offer expert guidance to help you to explore your career options, to develop and reflect on the skills and experience you need for the next step in your career, and to help you build the confidence to make the best career decisions for you. You’ll see us offering workshops and delivering lectures in your School, in the Careers Service, or online, and we offer one-to-one careers appointments to provide personalised advice and tailored strategies to meet your individual career goals. We work with academic and support staff in your School to understand specific needs of students from your subject area so we can provide the support that is right for you.

We develop, source and share expert careers information, advice and resources to inspire you to explore your options and develop your career management skills with confidence. Your very first interactions with the Careers Service might be with our team - we’re behind the newsletters dropping into your inbox and we’re often the advisers answering your questions on MyCareerHub, delivering Career Essentials workshops, talking things through at drop-ins or saying hello at stands across campus.

We set the vision and priorities for the department ensuring services are high‑quality, inclusive and evidence‑based, and have our stakeholders (students, employers and academics) at the heart of what we do. We build and manage collaborations across and beyond the University to support student success from pre-arrival to post-graduation. We support staff, manage budgets, solve knotty problems and represent the service across the university and with external partners. And we love what we do.
