Frequently asked questions for the Graduate Jobs Fair Online on Wednesday 8th July 2020 Advice regarding COVID 19 Advice for external organisations: novel coronavirus (COVID 19) information When does the fair open to the students and graduates? Opening Times: 11am – 4pm What does exhibiting at a Virtual Careers Fair look like? The University of Edinburgh Careers Service will begin to create your virtual stall using the information you provide during the booking and confirmation process. We will provide you with instructions for the system in advance of the event to allow you to check your stall and add further details and materials yourself before the event opens to students. During the event, student and graduate attendees from across Scotland's 15 universities will be suggested relevant stalls to visit based on candidate requirements. They will also be able to browse and filter exhibitor stalls by further relevancy. Once on your virtual stall they will explore the information you have provided us around ‘Who we are’, ‘What we do’, ‘Our culture’ and your ‘FAQs’. The FAQs section is a great chance for you to cover any of the easy to answer questions you get asked time after time at events. It equips interested candidates with information before they approach you for a conversation, meaning your interactions should involve quality, varied questions and conversations. Conversations and interactions all begin in a text chat format, but you have the ability to upgrade these conversations to audio or video with candidates you would like to speak with further. Exhibitors also have the ability to browse and filter attendees that you identify as promising candidates via the inbuilt sourcing tool. Any time that you are not spending on answering questions should be used to reach out to new potential candidates. You can search for candidates using different filters, invite them to apply for any of your positions, send direct instant messages and upgrade to video and audio conversations with candidates you would like to speak with further. We recommend you have a minimum of two representatives in the platform that are always available to speak to attendees throughout the event. This way one person can respond to incoming student and graduate interactions and the other can search and identify candidates you would like to speak with further. A more comprehensive guide on making the most of the event will be available closer to the time. Who am I going to meet? Attending a virtual Careers Fair is a big investment of your time . Please read our 'making the most of the fair' webpage for details on our students, who we expect will attend on the day and the types of questions you may get asked at this event. Further questions?
